Geru powder, also known as red ochre or Indian red, is a natural pigment with a rich history dating back to ancient times. This earthy pigment has been widely used in various cultural, artistic, and religious practices across the globe. In India, geru powder holds cultural significance, finding applications in traditional art, rituals, and even cosmetics. Artists and craftsmen frequently use it as a natural dye in paintings, murals, and pottery. The powder is valued not only for its vivid color but also for its non-toxic and eco-friendly nature.

In religious ceremonies, geru powder is utilized to create intricate patterns and designs on the ground, especially during festivals and auspicious occasions. It symbolizes purity, prosperity, and is believed to bring good fortune. Its presence in rituals connects communities to their cultural roots and traditions.

Apart from its artistic and religious uses, geru powder has practical applications. It has been employed as a natural dye for textiles, imparting a distinctive reddish tone to fabrics. Additionally, due to its association with traditional medicine, some believe it possesses medicinal properties and use it in various home remedies.

The extraction of geru powder involves collecting iron-rich earth, processing it, and grinding it into a fine powder. While synthetic alternatives exist, the natural variant remains popular for its authenticity and cultural significance.

TSF Geru powder serves as more than just a pigment; it is a cultural symbol deeply embedded in the traditions and practices of communities worldwide. Its versatility, ranging from artistic endeavours to religious ceremonies, reflects the enduring appeal of this natural red pigment.
